We have had freezing rain etc so DH went out to the coop to feed the hens and roo when he found three little eggs, one was broken and the other two were frozen, they were on the ground. We were not expecting them to lay till February, so I guess we have to fill the nesting boxes, any suggestions? We are so so happy[IMG]

Yay! [IMG] Mine started laying three weeks or so ago and they really started coming quickly. A few days after my first egg I was getting 8 eggs a day out of our 9 hens. So gear up! I didn't have straw handy for my nesting boxes so I went ahead and put clean pine shavings in which has been working well. Good luck and congrats!

Congrats!!! I still remember when I got my first eggs!! YAY!!!!!
I don't think you can make them lay in the box unless they want to. Some of mine still lay them in the middle of
the floor and next to the box and behind the box ect. Crazy chickens!!!!
