I never had a chance to post on here the trials and tribulations of our first set of three. Java, the mother, didn't do well after kidding and the kids were premature. We we up all night that evening with them force feeding colostrum to them. Java required medications to bring her health back up and also get her milk in. It was very much touch and go.
FlightsofFancy - THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP! You are a lifesaver, literally!
As of today, all three are finally nursing. The doeling is still in ICU, so to speak. All four are in the woodshop in our basement, near the woodstove in an oversized wire crate until they are all on the path to recovery. We are supplementing the babies with raw milk and half and half.
The doeling has been named Chai Latte. If she survives, we will be retaining her.
This buckling is Mocha Latte, and will also be retained.
