Thanks to the help of this awesome forum I'm sure we can treat it properly :fl

Your girls are doing well to be out enough to make foot prints! Mine didn't want to leave the coop with their first snowfall.

A funny and interesting story at the same time:
Every morning my wife takes care of our 5 chickens behind the house and takes the dog, Skyler, with her. The chickens are used to the dog and vice versa.
This morning however the dog accidentally stepped on one of the chickens feet...
The chicken instantly attacked our in that moment clueless and surprised dog (in self defense of course ;)) and while Skyler was backing up another chicken joined the fight. Together the two hens forced our dog to surrender and escape clucking away as much as their vocal cords may give.

Very interesting to see that chickens come to each other's defense. :highfive:

Here are two pictures taken a couple weeks prior to the mentioned scene:

Too funny! I didn't know they would come to each other's defense.

Your poor dog is probably traumatized

We are moving into a new place and can't take the chickens with us... :(
Furtunatelly we found a new home for them. They will share their new coop with 4 other chickens and for the first time with a rooster!!! That's going to be interesting...:D

Ultimately our goal is to move to America in the next years and have chickens again...until then I will stay loyal to BYC!
I'll miss my 5 silly girls...:hmm

Wolfgang, so sorry you can't take your girls with you...I know how much you have enjoyed them. Glad you found a new home for them (they might teach that rooster a thing or two, lol).

Do stay active here and best wishes that your move (and future move to US) works out well for you! :hugs
