Our first hatch today! I am so excited. We have 10 eggs in the bator. 6 have pipped. One chick is out running around peeping for the rest to join her. One has zipped, but can't seem to make it out of the shell. After reading all the other posts, I will not open the incubator to help him out. It's tough though. I can see his little beak moving and every now and then he struggles and then is quiet again. Does he have a chance?
How long can I leave the chicks in there? Also, has anyone ever heard of a chick getting burned by that metal rod in the incubator? I burnt myself the other day while turning the eggs...
Can you tell that I'm nervous?
    A new mama!
