Our first pip

All I know is waiting is the hardest but most important. Hope you have some pips soon.

Thanks

I'm on day 22 as of 7:30 this morning. My first pip was yesterday, day 21, around 9:30am.

I have two out of the shell in the brooder. 3 in the bator drying and 7 pipped working their way out.

I have 20 total eggs.

I did try one time to incubate eggs prior to this using an aquarium and a light. It was a dismal failure. None ever developed. They all rotted. So, I bought a cheap $35 bator and so far it seems to be doing its job.

Good luck with yours. I know people tell me all the time that temperature and age of eggs make a difference in hatch time. It could be they are just not ready yet. I am no expert though.

Fingers crossed chicks in your future

We have 6 chicks hatched...9 pipped in the incubator and 5 not pipped as of yet from what I can see. They are just chillin from the struggles of hatch life & I'm tired. No rest when Chickie's are hatching.

4 pipped chicks died. They were face down from the newly hatched chicks rolling them around & I believe they suffocated

We have 9 hatched chicks. 4 pipped in the incubator & 4 unpipped.

Is it possible the 4 pipped will make it? They just don't do anything but a quiet peep every hour or so. They're alive but not making progress at all.

And the 4 that haven't pipped. Should I candle them yet or just wait it out? Should I put a little air hole in the top just in case it pipped through the air sack but not the shell or would it be too late now? Tomorrow will be day 23 at 7:30am
