Our first pip

We have a 5th pip.

First one to pip has still not moved for a while.

your chick will move envanchuly it happens to my friend if its still like that bring it to the vet and get a cheak up

So, within 15 minutes a 4th pip occurred and hatched itself out. Yay

Though I have another chick that has pipped on the wrong side as well as the right side of the egg. It was the first one to pip at around 9:30 am. It's now 5:30pm and there has been no peeping or wiggling but I noticed it had a pip on both ends. What do I do???

I'm not sure how it would have got a pip on both end of the egg? From external pip to zip and hatch can take up to 24 hours, so from 9.30 - 5.30 I would not be worried. ive had them go the full 24 hours before and they have hatched fine. No movement does not mean anything bad it's probably asleep they do rest a lot.

I have 2 out. The first that pipped at around 9am yesterday I decided to assist. Did the whole idea of chip a tiny bit away and let them do the rest. All blood vessels were gone and inner membrane very hydrated. It took a couple more hours but it hatched out. I have 4 more at least with outer pips and little progress and I hear tons of tiny pecking which makes me think many are still yet to pip but trying. 7:30am will be the start of day 22. Wish me & Chickie's luck as we are all tired. I've been up every couple hours to check on progress.

The dark one is the one I was worried about being stuck. Once they came out they were knocking the other eggs trying to hatch all over the place. So they dried and I put them in the brooder. Refilled my sponges to keep humidity high and closed incubator back up. Humidity stayed up other than a few seconds.

All I know is waiting is the hardest but most important. Hope you have some pips soon.
