My experience with them was horrible. Besides their lack of communication, their day old chicks they sent to me were a mishmash of breeds. Something mixed with marans, I think they were trying to make olive eggers but didn't succeed. I have some strange bird who looks like a polish/andalusian mix. I am surprised they either couldn't tell what the chicks were that they were sending me or else didn't care. I think I only got 3 of the birds I ordered out of 30+. The roosters were all mean and are now in the freezer. I regret the money I wasted with them.

partridge lay the darkest but like anything it depends on the breeder. some partridge lay darker than others. That is bad news. I asked them questions on availability using their website's messaging. I never got a response back. I called them and was sent to voice mail and they did not respond to that either.
In this day I would expect a response within 24 hours.
I got my Partridge Penedesencas from MyPetChicken.
What is the most sought after color? I heard that Wheaten tend to have darker eggs. The Blacks were bred for dual purpose, meat/egg. Crele and Partridge? My wife thinks our lone Partridge Pene is beautiful.![]()
Yes, I also wonder about their hatching egg quality. Even if they managed to get you the proper breeds, I'm not sure their quality is much better than hatchery. Their andalusians were very comperable to my hatchery ones - very little lacing at all. And the pullet I can only assume is a black copper marans just began laying and her egg isn't nearly as dark as I would expect a marans egg to be.Thank you for letting us know. With weirdness shipping live birds it makes me wonder about their hatching eggs?

Thank you for sharing what yours are like.
There is a local Marans breeder in Roseville CA that has great Marans with dark eggs. She ships so if you want her contact information let me know.

Thanks for thinking of me, but I wasn't trying to get Marans from them in the first place. It's just what I ended up with, lol!Thank you for sharing what yours are like.

Quote: I have heard of that happening quite a bit from different hatcheries. I hope you finally got the ones you wanted.

wheaten are close to partridge. they are very pretty as well.
I think Crele are so pretty but my favorite are my white empordanesa. so curious and alert
the whites are the mellowest I own. My crele's are mellow to but keep there distance. My partridge are not aggressive. I have one that screams like she is being murdered when you pick her up.I have 9 partridge eggs on the way from MPC. Our lone Partridge Pene is not a spaz but definitely is the most aggressive chicken we have ever had. Trying to tame her down with lots of contact. Are your whites a mellower bird? Decided to get French Golden Cuckoo Marans instead of picking up more Polish.
Can you breed the different colors and improve egg color or does it just mess everything up and cause more bother?
