when the fertile eggs we got our broody girls didn't all hatch (i'm guessing they weren't fertile at all) we got some babies from a local animal park. the place specialises on old breeds of all sorts of farm animals. all i was told about these was they were game bantams, i saw one of the roosters when i picked them up and he was gorgeous!

anyway, here they are, three of them

i'm quite excited to see what they are going to grow up to be like...

Ain't that cute! Expect them little fellas to be flying by next week. Those game chickens are survivors to the max! They know how to scramble through the bramble and freeze amidst the leaves. Have fun with them!

There is always something so funny to me about silkie broodies. They are gorgeous, yours included, but because of the feathering, they have that perpetually ruffled appearance, like motherhood has done a number, lol. I have two silkie hens myself, so I get to see the "frazzled" look a lot lol.

haha yeah i know what you mean. we were talking about the silkie mothers the other day (got two here as well), about just how nice it must be to be snuggled up under the wings!

we had fun making the home nice, i try and tell myself they appreciate it but not so sure
