Our geese prefer some kiddie pool to big one

So confused. We have a small dog kiddie pool that's close to 3 feet wide and 5" high for the geese. They love it. Decided we wanted to get them something bigger so we bought a 6' wide, 2 feet deep galvanized tank. I built a small soil ramp with pavers to get into it (old ramp in the picture, they didnt much care for stacked paver steps) but they hardly use it. Prefer their $10 foot soaker. Any idea why?

I wonder if its the paver ramp? My big-footed American Buff geese sometimes seem troubled by the width of the steps they have to use to climb onto the deck to poop all over it and beg for treats.

And, although there are two kiddie pools for the geese and ducks, the Buffs like to wedge themselves into the much narrower 15-gallon water tank. However, I think your set-up is lovely and the geese SHOULD be thrilled!

Problem solved. They wanted an inground solution. Complete with 2,000 gallon per hour pump, UV filter, and separate pentek bag filter. Still hard to keep clean though. We start the day off with clear water and bY end of day...oh boy.
