Yay!!! Just brought home our first three chickies - a buff orpington named Sookie, a rhode island red named Bella, and a (hopefully) cuckoo marans named Hermione. They are 7 days old today and seem to be settling in just fine. Not cheeping too much, and found their water already. My dogs are VERY curious and can't quite seem to figure out where that weird sound is coming from! One keeps sniffing the brooder and the other keeps looking back and forth between the TV and the bag of chick feed, lol!

We pick up a 3 day old Ameraucana on Saturday and have set up a small separate brooder, but when can I integrate her in with the others? Any opinions or experience?

Thanks!

I think that they are young enough to put them togeather now, since there really isn't a pecking order yet.

Yes, they should be young enough. I've heard people say that you can put them together as long as they are within 1 month of age.
