Our good rooster seems to have a hip problem.
He was avoiding putting pressure on one leg and spent most of the day sitting down.
Checked him out, his foot looks fine and I could bend his knee no problem he didn't squawk or fidget when I was pocking and prodding. Everything looked to be correctly aligned.
I don't want to see him starve to death or worse get picked to death by the other birds, so I may have to put him down. will keep and eye on him for another day or so and see if he improves.
This is a real shame, he's a good rooster. The hens like him, he's no aggressive and he's produced some great looking offspring.
Can anything be done for his leg in this situation?
