I keep a garden journal of things that are happening in my yard: what's blooming/producing, weather, etc. This includes the egg count.
1st egg on Thanksgiving morning 2008
Nov 2008 = 3 (1 bird laying)
Dec 2008 = 32 (1 bird laying until 12/27, then 3)
Jan 2009 = 58 (3 birds laying for 2 weeks, then 2)
Feb 2009 = 40+ (2 birds laying, missed tracking a few days)
March 2009 = 59 (3 birds laying for 2 weeks, then 2)
April 2009 = 16 to date
That's over 208 to date starting in Nov of last year. Those are mostly from just 2 hens. Good girls!
We've got 2 chicks in the brooder and 3 more coming in the end of the month. We will have a few eggs come this fall...
