After just getting the 3 new EE girls last night, I went and got 3 more FBC maran chicks from the lady I bought the others from! My original 3 have definately turned out to be roos, so I wasn't going to get any DARK eggs from them! What else was I supposed to do, but go buy some more!

The new ones are within a week of being the same age as mine, so I compared my definate roos, and the couple of definate roos left in the brooder and picked the ones that looked the most pullet-ish! I am

I dunno why though?!?

Yes, I like those very much. I decided this morning while out for a run that we would honor Lisa's flock with naming our firt Coro roo, "King". He will be the only roo we keep, and he shall rule out flock.

We have a date :D

Lindz, you sounds as bad as me hahahaha

Very cool. Nice black swans, something that is common here, but rare everywhere else!

I remember walking to perry lakes and feeding them. They used to be a lot more common here , but the locals ate them. The French explorer De' castreaux parked his sailing ship literally in our front yard and sent the sailors off to gather up as many swans as they could catch for the journey back to Europe.

That's really cool, but you really do have bator brain, is there any time when you are not thinking about chickens. Your jogging along ,

Anything to not be thinking of my legs and what I am doing to them hahahah. Today I lapped the Bibra Lakes path (6km) 5 times....nearly 3 hours of trying to avoid thinking about running while running lol Plus, I clearly REALLY do have a bad case of 'bator brain.

Also, the swans are sold over there for so much as they are not local birds, Gala's and other Australian natives go for about $2100. That's a boat load of cash for a pink and grey! For that price, I don't think anyone would be eating them, they have turkey's to nibble on.
