Hi Ben! I found this neat thread this morning while browsing the forums. I was hooked! I have to say I'm very sorry about Mareks early on, but you definitely took the right steps to get rid of it, and now you seem to have a great flock! I finally finished reading just a little bit ago, and I'm looking forward to hear about how your latest batch of chicks grows.

This is a blue laced red Wyandotte, yes? He's very beautiful! I have a pair of BLRW, and I love them to pieces. The rooster, Gaston (I'm a big fan of Disney, lol) does a great job of watching over my girls.

Thanks for reading! Sorry if there are any typos; I'm currently on my iPod so the text is harder to read.

Very cool Babyfoot.

The kids say that Rosie was in her practice eggs most if the day, but got off to roost tonight. Maybe she is getting a run up at being broody lol
Actually my broodys do exactly that, they have practise runs leading up to the real thing. I have been caught out a few times, got the nesti8ng boxes ready and made secure her own private area then... the wee madam decides she doesn't want to after all. I now wait until she has been on eggs for three days before I realise it's for real this time

Hi and welcome! Yes, it has been a rough start but very glad we stuck it out, and now things are a little bit crazy hahahaha

Enjoy the ride with the rest of us :)

Interesting, the kids tell me she is on the practice eggs during the day, but she is sleeping on the roost with the others.

We have some time still to know for sure, and if I have a doubt we will be using the incubator to be sure.

Wedding today, then hope to have some more time tomorrow to relax a bit while we are here in Brisbane.
