Our introduction to keeping chickens, the high's, the lows and pics of our journey.

I keep putting my ear to the bator... no peeping yet. Hope by tomorrow to hear something. I haven't really stood there watching them either. Been a busy day, and tomorrow is to be busy too, SOOOO you all know that I am just plain simple keeping busy so I am not tempted to do the naughty and open it! LOL

Well, things were going just too peachy for too long.

Alicia just notice that Lucky (LS roo) has split his beak. I got there just on dusk, I thought it was a spur but we would have noticed it before now so it must be a split.

Tonight, more research on fixing it up to get him through a bit longer. Sounds weird fixing him up before he goes in the roasting pan, but I don't want the lad to suffer. Won't be a full patch up, but trim and file at least, I don't think we will be gluing or strapping it.

Tomorrow is pretty much everyone birthdays, 9 weeks for the first hatch, 4 weeks for the last ones. I will get a few more pictures tomorrow to share. Will try capture Lucky's beak repair too, see how we go.

Thanks Pam, I did find that exact page. very helpful. I will trim it for sure and see how far we have to go with it. If it was one of the girls she would get the full treatment so it may be worth the practice anyway.

Nambroth and I see to get all the fun Nova!
