2 week 15+ days....new pics in comments. Any guesses as to breeds yet?
I'm guessing too early on gender.

1 week update pics in the comments...

I know they are too young to tell just about anything, but they are so cute and I thought I would add pics to this thread as they grow.
Anything noticed from seasoned chicken folk would be greatly appreciated!

Update...on the bantam babes...
Doing well. There is one whose vent is constantly plugged and needs a wipe. Seems perfectly healthy though. Do they outgrow that?
First 3 pics are of that chick...hence the wet bum.

This little yellow one is a doll....if I'm correct and this and the previous are cochin, I'm thinking the all yellow may be a roo???

The other 6 chicks look like the rest of the pics, can't really tell anything about them yet.

Look up forums on "pasted butt" and how to treat....it can be fatal if the poop gets hard.
Prevent by making sure brooder isn't too warm, and the chicks have access to a cooler area.
Also you can mix a little water w the feed so they are eating moist feed instead of dry. Even better you can let the moist feed sit overnight and ferment a little. Fermented feed has lots of benefits. I give it to mine. There are forums on fermented feed as well.

I think they are still too young to tell what sex...
VERY CUTE!!!

I love how quickly they grow and feathers fill in. I don't know if anyone can tell yet, but any thoughts appreciated.
The pasted butt issue has gone away...yay!
I'm thinking the one yellow/white chick may be a Splash Cochin?
No idea on any of the others.
The 2 with the feathered feet are hysterical, that does not look at all comfortable.
Here are the latest pics. 15+ days old.

The last one in this series looks just like the full-sized Welsummer chicks we have. You can get almost anything as a bantam, so it just might be. They are very cute! And should have wonderful speckled dark eggs if they are indeed bantam Welsummers. If they are welsummers (or even I think a different breed with that patterning) any with clear stripes and banding around the eyes should be female. There's some good pictures here: http://welsummers.blogspot.com/2011/01/more-chick-pics-sexing-welsummer-chicks.html

I don't know about the others but cochins seems like a likely option with those feathered legs and feet.

On the clogged vent issue, our two barred bantam chicks had it really badly until we started mixing Chick Boost Probiotics in with their water. The lady at the feed store said she thought just baking soda mixed in with their water would work just as well, and it does have baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) listed as the second ingredient.

Probiotics and electrolytes help. Try to keep the water poop and shedding free. I've had an awful time this year with it. But only from the feed store birds. The ones I hatched are fine.

I got some mystery bantams at TSC about four weeks ago and some of them look just like your last two. My working guesses are porcelain d'uccle for the yellow/white one and black breasted old English game for the gray speckled. I also have bantam welsummers from Myer that are the same age and they look very different, much more brown rather than gray. Your last one looks like something laced. Have fun!
