Our Little Egg Business

I think that if someone wanted farm fresh eggs...they would search for 'Egg stand' by Zip. I went to Eggzy, and didn't need to sign up since I am already a member. Soooo I subscribed to your egg stand. I suppose that I will get a message from Eggzy when it shows that you have eggs for sale.

If you look at the upper right corner after you log in.. where it says 'hello xxxx' where xxxx is your log in, and then you click that, you can get back to your hub and 'manage your flock'. That's where you put the eggs in. Eventhough I subscribed to your eggstand it says 'zero' subscribers, but maybe it needs to verify my subscription or something. It also says that there are 0 eggs for sale right now, but I see the eggs icon in your egg stand.

When I first go to my hub, it shows cool graphs of which breed produced how many eggs, and a pie chart of where my eggs are coming from. -- After I enter my eggs and go back to 'stats', then those two cool charts error off. Thus far the software developers haven't figured out the reason that the graphics go away...but you still get the cost per egg, cost per dozen, eggs per week and number of eggs in the last 30 days... (of course you would have to go back on the eggs entry to enter 30-days' worth for that to be accurate. If you go forward from here, after you have put 30 days of entries in, then that statistic will be correct.

Anything in orange on the stats page is a hypertext jump. If you click on 'eggs available' at the bottom of those stats, it will take you to a listing by date of the eggs, and it holds back 1dozen. So once you pass 1dozen, it begins to say how many dozen you have available. Hope this helps a little.

On the far right side of the page where your hub is, there is a red tab that says 'feedback'. If you need to contact the programmers that is how to do it, and they are quite responsive.

Soooo if I were someone looking for eggs, and I subscribed to your egg stand (I did subscribe), I suspect that you may be getting a message that someone wants to subscribe and you OK it---or else when your egg stand shows eggs for sale, then the system will send a message to me.

When I enter eggs tomorrow, I will email you if I have gotten a message...feel free to email me too --- I probably would be able to get back to you quicker via email.

We were 103 here today according to the thermometer in my car... My chickens each laid today ---but their eggs seem smaller. I wonder how much longer they can withstand the heat before they just stop laying until it cools off some.

Be sure to "like it" on Facebook - one way to get the word out!

Good point FloridaChicken, until people know about it -- it will take time to pick up steam. I suspect that one of the biggest 'markets' for true farm-fresh eggs would be health food stores, as you said farmer's markets and foodies who really care about food. You may also find some outdoor bulletin boards there to post a notice. Part of your market would be people who are computer users....

Good idea stcroixusvi! that is the way to get things going.
