She had been wheezing and "barking" if you will, since last Sunday. It sounded to me like she was coming down with a respiratory infection. I guess I caught on too late. I put the Tylan in the water on Thursday to treat everyone just in case and her. My husband went out today at 5pm to check on everyone and fill up their food etc. and she was talking to him like always and by the time I went out to see them at 6pm I found her collapsed in the run. Still warm and limp. There was no heartbeat and she was gone. Could this have been the result of a respiratory infection? So sudden within a week? My other girls have not been making any strange noises and are acting normal. I am mystified by this. She is my first girl to die from somewhat natural causes and not an animal attack like my other 2 last year. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks everyone!

I'm so sorry you lost Ruby.

I lost one of our hens this afternoon too. She died without much warning, she had a cough for about two months tho. And I found her feet up in the nesting box. So Sad!
