Golf balls in the nest box should work. I'm not sure you want them laying on top of the current nest box, as it would be difficult to clean...nice coop/run!
Thanks for all the super kind words. I love the ideas of either putting a lip around the top of the nestbox or adding a piece of plywood at a 45 degree angle. I will see which works the best.
And roosts for inside the run is a great idea- I never even thought of that! What is the best thing to use to make the roost? We actually cut down a small 2 and 1/2 inch diameter tree on our property (our house backs up to a small forest) for the roost inside the coop. Any suggestions would be great
Thanks again for all the encouraging words. And for any construction-newbies out there- I had a fantastic time putting this together. It was slow at parts and I had to improvise A LOT and I decided a pitched angle, formal roof was way over my head but all in all I had a great time with it (I am even 5 months preggo, lol).
I really like it.......Georgia Bull Dawg RED......in Florida....that's great!
I always over build and it takes weeks and month's to finish anything....if it does get finished. Your simple design is great and I wish I could do that way....but the Tim Allen Syndrome entires in and I end up with a Mansion.....as mentioned anchor it down.
