Our new coop! (more pics added 07/21)!!!! (added window)

Put linoleum on the floor. It makes it so easy to clean. I just stapled mine down with a staple gun. I also put it on the wall behind the roosts as they tend to get some poo on the wall at night depending on the roosts are. I got some by posting on freecycle, but I know
Home Depot and Lowe's have already cut sheets that are under $30 .. should be enough for your floor.

Looks good so far !

Here's the most recent updates, only minor tweaks and cosmetics left to go, but even so, they already love it!

(I know, terrible conditions for a pic, I was just excited when I put them out there for first time this morning!)

Never thought of that...Is that a bad thing?...We only have 3 at the moment, anticipating up to 3 more max(hehehehehe)...I didn't want it higher so they didn't have to jump down so far if they didn't use the ramp...

kycklingar! :

Hmm. I put my roost higher (after the fact...) and the girls still roost in and on the nest boxes. Any advice on how to deter them?

for on top: depends on coop design and your nest box design (description? pics?). if possible, make it so they can't do it, failing that, make it a good thing somehow (install a poop board to make it easier to clean?).

for inside: if they aren't laying yet, block them off with cardboard until you see your first egg so they get into the habit of sleeping somewhere else. if they are laying already i dunno...consult someone more experienced
