Our new dog is from a rescue group in TN. She is an 18 month old Australian Shepherd mix.
When we decided we were interested in adopting her they called to tell us there was a transport van with some other rescue dogs leaving on Thursday to arrive in MA on friday afternoon.
We arrived to pick her up a few minutes before the van arrived. Poor thing was terrified... Probably from being stuck in a crate in a van for 24 hours, with assorted other crates and other dogs.
We brought her home.
She was scared and stood in the corner watching us for awhile.
We offered her some treats and she started to come around.
Couple hours and she is following Jeff and I around the house.
I took her outside and she LOVED playing in the snow.
She was bounding around. sticking her face in the snow, digging in the snow. Having a blast.
here's some pics:
After that she warmed right up to us. She is quiet, and always following us. She knows her name. She is house trained. She's fitting in just great. The kids love her already, and she seems very gentle.
