Our new duck-trying to determine her breed

By the time they fill out their feathers, they are mostly full grown already. If she were just young there would be some downy fuzz. She may fill out a bit but I don't think she is going to get much bigger.

I have two silver appleyard females and they are much lighter, more of a white with some brown and black flecks. I was thin king maybe a Khaki Campbell mix.

I dont know what she is ,, but I wish she were MINE.... she is awesome and watching the video
I fell in luv with her <3 <3

Well, I guess we will never really know!

But she is a cutie that is for sure.
Just wondering, is there somewhere to read up on behavior of small flocks anywhere. The drake is being a little bratty to her and I just wondered how long that would last.

Hattiegun, good thing you live so far away then!!!

She is a sweet little thing, but she does have some spunk, which is good, since she's been through so much lately.

I would say she is a Saxony cross. Looks very much like my Saxony but is thinner and somewhat lighter, but the markings are there.

Sure wish she could talk and let me know what she is!!!!
People are so funny.
We were at the shelter picking her up and had her in the carrier, taking her to the car. There was an ADORABLE donkey in a paddock right near the car, so OF COURSE, I had to go see it. I had the carrier in my hand and there was another woman standing at the fence. I was begging my husband to agree to take the donk. Not going to happen as we have two horses already, but hey, it was worth a shot! Anyway, the woman said, well maybe you can trade the cat you have in the carrier for the donkey. I said, oh it's not a cat, it's a duck. She looked at me like I had two heads and asked me why we had a duck. I explained that she was coming home with us as a pet and to live with our other three ducks. She still looked a bit skeptical. A minute or two later she was saying to her husband that we had a DUCK in that carrier. He asked why and she said, " I guess some people keep them for pets! I never heard of that before, but this lady has three others". Like it was totally a foreign concept to her. I just laughed. There was something about eating it, that I chose to ignore. But it just struck me as funny that this lady couldn't imagine keeping a duck for a pet.

Still wondering about this girl. She laid her first egg today. A very small tan one. Does that help in figuring out what she is?
It really doesn't matter, she is cute and we love her, but it is fun to try to figure out.

Hummm...lets see if we can narrow things down.

Mallards lay blue tinted eggs
Buffs lay whitish eggs
Khaki Campbells lay whitish eggs
Welsh Harlequins lay whitish eggs
Runners lay all kinds of colored eggs. Mine lays white eggs. I think one of Netties lays greenish eggs.
