I lost a guinea with a slipped tendon to the cold Mon. night. It was right at the freezing mark.

I would make her a little bed with deeper bedding so she can burrow down in it and get warmer.

Wow! thanks everyone for the welcome and the great future possibilities for our sweet Josie!

I am thinking a patch of carpet under the bedding, then lots of it.. we use wood shavings now but thinking of hay for the winter.. she tends to sweep the woodshavings away from her that bum leg, when she sits as it is stiff and does not bend! Hay has a deeper 'pile'... As for a small raised box, I do not think she'd fit into it with her leg stiff and kinda out to the front/side. She does catch it on things and I have even seen her hop around in circles when she does! We are looking into a closer heat lamp for her... I thank everyone for their help, and great welcome! Nice to see Idaho so well represented here! BTW, it does get colder in Pocatello/SE Idahoooo than it does here!! But -20 is pretty darn cold! I'll snap a photo of Josie and post it.. maybe someone can tell me what her 'official' color is!
