Our tiny new backyard coop in Antioch

First we had to find a spot 20' from all dwellings. We chose a nice bed in the lee of the garage. We prepared it with grass clippings and a foundation made of local brick.

Here it is all ready for our bantams to arrive home.

Nice How old are the birds you chose? How many are yo planning on keeping?

We are starting with two bantam hens.

Awwww Are you planning to let them out of the coop to free range?

Oh, of course! I've told my cattledog that her new job will be to "assist" them in returning to their coop at night.

I hope your cattle dog is trained not to eat chickens...and keeps anything else that's looking for a chicken dinner away from that coop.
