Since hubby lost his job (end of Jan), then in hospital things have not been super tight. Then on top of that the hot water heater tank in the motorhome (live in it) blew a hole in it. Steve asked his brother for help, put on his credit card then we would pay him back. We were able to get a on demand tankless that was on sale for less than a tanker water heater. Steve went down to his brother's to get what tools he was going to need to install out of his big tool box down there and take the title to the quad to his brother. Steve had given his brother permission to sell the quad. He sold it, Steve told him to keep the money as particle payment on the water heater.
Ever since Steve was in the hospital (on life support), his brother started in on me about not working. I had told him, that he doesn't know my medical, that it was between me and Steve. Well he has been on Steve ever since about me not working. Did it when Steve went to get tools. Steve was really pissed :mad:when he got home. Of course it got me in a real dark place. Between Steve and my dad, they got me out of it.
I told Steve I was going to try and get a job. Been out of the work force for 19 years, because of medical. I told Steve I would try and find a job and shut his brother's mouth. If anything happens to me it's his brother's fault. I put in 3 applications online a week ago Friday. One was at TSC. TSC called last Saturday, did a phone interview, had in person interview Monday, was offered the job Tuesday. They are aware of my limitations (don't have left knee cap) and said they will accommodate the limitations. Worked Thursday and Friday. Starts out as part time but can go to full time. Online training classes was down Thursday, so had me stocking shelves all day. Did the online training classes all day yesterday, Have 4 more classes to finish Monday(training system was still having trouble), then will do forklift, trash compactor and cashier training.. Scheduled to work Tuesday (stocking) and Thursday night until midnight (freight). Stocking and freight days are going to be my main jobs. Said I won't be working the day after freight. That it is too hard on a person to come back in the next day.
Stocking wasn't bad, since I shop there I knew what aisle most things went.
Called my dad and stepmother and let them know I got a job. They were both very supportive. :thumbsupDad wasn't happy about it, he said he knows I will push my body too hard, but he is behind me. I told Steve I will never go to his brother's, he can but I won't. He said he would only go down if he absolutely has to. They are not close, never have been cause of his brother's actions from way before I met Steve(been together for 21 years, married 20 years).
Dang shoes caused a blister on both ankles, will soak with Epsom salt water, didn't get sore at all. I didn't even feel the blisters, didn'tknow they had happened until I took off my socks and saw a little blood. Helped I took a couple Advil before going to work, came home took hot 45 minute shower, took a couple Advil before bed, and relaxed with heat pad to keep muscles from tightening up. Steve had surprised me with having supper almost done when I got home Thursday and last night he had the onions and tomatoes cut up for tacos. Said he didn't know which pan I used to do the meat with, so he waited on that. Told him I would do the meat. He has taken over most of the household chores (except the chickens :lau). He said he was dreading chick days:gig.
Sorry this was so long. Thank for reading.

I'm sorry... but that simply isn't true... his brother may be a jerk... but you make your own decisions including to go back to work. ;)

I just hate it when someone asks for help and the helper feels the need to belittle the ones who need help. :duc

Starting work like you've done after all these years... is no doubt a serious challenge to your body! Much of the soreness should subside as you adjust to all the standing and new activity levels. Sounds like it could be a bit brain frying too with all that training. Hang in there! But wow, only a week to find a job, you rock! :yesss:

Tacos... one of my families favorite foods! We fry the shells with the meat and cheese inside, YUMM! :drool

Oh boy, Steve isn't the only one who dreads chick days. It's sooo hard to resist, I avoid the store as long as possible and hope chick days are over before I arrive.

Glad to hear you do have lots of support from other loved ones besides the holier than thou brother. :thumbsup

I hope you thrive and open a whole new chapter in life that turn into a giant unexpected blessing! :wee

ETA: Congrats on making it 20+ years with your hubby! :celebrate (me too)

I was laughing when I said it would be his brother's fault. We both know what an a$$ he is.
All those classes yesterday my brain was on overload. Usually 2 days of classes but since system was down, needed to get as much done yesterday, 4 classes short of doing 2 days in a single day. I was willing to stay until I got those 4 done, if manager wanted. She said go ahead and clock out. You can finish Monday, morning with the system being down and the glitches today there won't be a problem.
Thank you on the congratulations on 20 years. Congratulations to you too.

Good idea to put bandaids on the foot where it gets sore and bleeds. Helps them heal and lessens chance of it happening again. I used to be a distance walker and I usually went out with bandaids on every toe. Preventing new blisters on the usual areas.
Soaking feet again with Epsom salt water. Even though the salt in those sores hurt at first will help. Stole the neosporin out of the animal first aid box. Got the bandaids, says foam. Also got some thicker socks. I only had thin socks so with the bandaids and thicker socks that should help keep friction down. Going to test it out tomorrow, if need be will put on thinner socks then the thicker socks.
Not use to being on feet all day. Back of ankles need to toughen up. +

Thank You for the tip on the blisters. :hugs
With the bandaids, neosporin and thin socks with the thick socks worked well.
I must be doing good. Was asked to cover a person's weekend shift Saturday & Sunday. Was told she doesn't normally have a new hire do weekends for a couple of months. I was asked after 3 (8 hour) days. One who started 5 months ago still hasn't been asked to work weekends. Heck she has come to me and asked questions. When I have asked her questions her answer has been I don't know. She's young. Yesterday she kept saying she was tired. She had 4 days off, should have been rested. I just chalk it up as being young .

I did have a OH NO, Monday morning. Ran in the motorhome to grab what I had forgot. I must have accidentally hit the lock button on the truck and locked the keys & fob i(only set we have)n the truck along with my lunch bag with my driver's license in it. Came in told Steve, had to take the Tracker to work. Before lunch Steve came to the store. He got it unlocked, brought the keys to me, we switched vehicles. Won't do that again, keys come out if I get out, but going to get another set made.
