Out of Chick feed at 16 weeks

I have two 15 week old Buff Orpington hens. I probably have enough chick feed to get them to 16 weeks but not 18 weeks. My girls free range all day and get a nice supplement of kitchen scraps every morning. I have plenty of layer feed and really don't want to go buy more chick feed. What say you all - am I OK to go ahead and make the switch at the 16'ish week mark?

I have never had any problems feeding adult feed to teenage birds.

Agreed. I make the switch any time after the pullets get their cluck.

I've started youngsters at 15 weeks on layer when I've had to put them in the adult flock. So a little fudging on the age is not a huge deal.
