The dry heat does too. My enclosed porch was where we WERE storing it. I measured the heat during the day 120+ degrees. After 3 weeks the feed smelled rancid. So we like to buy FR from TS because it's dry and cool inside. Some of the other feed stores are still 90+ degrees during the day. It never smells as fresh as when we get it from TS. Unfortunately the one super hot feed store is the only place we can buy duck food. :| They get new stuff in monthly now- which helps but still awfully hot in there! I have a teeny tiny space carved out in my garage that will fit 3 bags of feed right now. It stays about 80 degrees during the day (and in total darkness). The best I can do for now. Beats 120+ on my sunny back porch!You're right. I do live in a very dry, temperate area. I'm sure humidity would kill stored feed.
