At what age should I move my ducklings outside? They are around 5 weeks old and pretty much fully feathered. They have not had a heat lamp in a week and it is getting into the 70 s here. Is it okay to move them outside? Fully or only during the day etc?

have they been going out side during the day some now? What are your temps at night?
I have been letting them spend time outside now during the day when its not raining. We've been in the 50 s at night

Do they have a shelter and a wind free place? They need to be able to bask in the sun, and get into some shade.

If they have a place to snuggle up at night... and it is all predator proof..
those temp sound great to me

Yeah they have a do it sided house with an open door and a predator proof run is being completed this week. They are currently in my bathtub but its getting a little crowded and I think they need more space and entertainment.

I figure I can bring them back inside of we have a cold night

they need heat during the day unless your temps are 80F.... 3 weeks are young chicks.
Were about 70 s now and they are 5 weeks. Fully feathered except for right on the backs of their necks.

huh... I was so sure your post had said 3 weeks... :hu

well.... do the chicks look cold? Do they huddle at all during the day? Or are they lively and active and scratching about?
