I've got 9 chicks we purchased this past Monday from TSC and found out a couple days ago we have to go out of town at least overnight, possibly two nights around March 11th. The trip can't be avoided as it's a dr appointment for my daughter and it's about 7 hours away in Philadelphia. What is our best course of action for our chicks? We don't have a reliable choice of someone to stop in and check on them. We could possibly transport them to my mother in law's house, though I know it's asking a lot of her, plus I don't want to stress the chicks out. We already lost one to stress. She also a schizo dog that concerns me. And the only other option is filling up the food and water and hoping for the best. I hate not having someone lay eyes on them and making sure all is well in the brooder at least once throughout the day, though. Does anyone do a lot of traveling? What's your solution when you have to be away?
