Out own their own tonight

We moved the babies outside to the new coop tonight. We've already been a couple of times to check on them. Last time we looked 2 were on the roost and the rest were huddled together on the floor. I'm hoping they will be fine own their own tonight.

Oh I do feel for you! The first night we put ours in the coop I didn't go to bed until after 2 AM because I kept going to check on them. DH finally made me quit opening the door and told me that I could only look through the window at them. It was terrible! I don't check as much now but I still go check on them one last time before I go to bed and always check on them 1st thing in the morning. Even if I didn't my DS would. It's the first thing he asks in the morning - Are the chicks okay? Here's wishing them all a safe and healthy night!

Your tellin me. I was going to set ours out tonight for their first night and totally "chickend out". I Just put them back in the brooder... one more night can't hurt

Mine huddled together too. I didnt see anything wrong with that, I only had 5 so it wasnt like they were going to smother eachother

Everyone seems to be just fine this morning, other then wanting out. It's actually raining for once, so we are just leaving them in the coop. They've been eating and drinking and everyone's found a roost to sit on. Thanks for everyone's well wishes on their first night out.
