Nervous Nelly here !!

When DH gets home tonight, we will be moving "Hef" and the girls out to the coop (7 weeks old). I think I have everything ready

Have to put the pine shavings down and then the DE Perma Guard (not sure how much) and I plan on dusting the roosts with it. The new feeder I bought is a 3 gallon one, so I am not sure the quantity I should be using of DE in that also.

Any suggestions as to how to make the transition a smooth one for them? Treats for everyone after the move? What am I to expect ? They will be locked in the coop until the Run is finished (hopefully this weekend)

They'll be fine. You, on the other hand, will need some Valium or a couple of bottles of wine, your choice.

I'm a fine one to talk. I still have mine sleeping indoors.

Thanks everyone, I sure hope I have the major bases covered.

I just posted pics on the Design and Construction board today, https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=221495 please check them out, not done with the entire setup but enough that we can move them in.

I checked out the Perma Guard website and found the distributor in Michigan and called them. They asked what part of the state I lived in and gave me the info of a feed store about 20 miles from here, bought it for $39.95.

and my 6 yr old grandson is over to spend a couple of days and they sure do run you ragged with their energy. I am sure I will not have a problem sleeping, after running out and checking on them a couple hundred times.

Yay!!! Their in the coop and had their treats and all are sleeping in the corner huddled close to each other.

Dust the litter lightly with DE, and try not to inhale it, or to let them do so. For the feed, it works out to 2 cups to a 50 lb. bag of feed. I just sprinkle and mix when I fill the feeder.
