Entry No.1

I enjoy photographing tiny flowers. When you look at the photographs on a screen, you see things about the flowers you would not have noticed while looking at the real flowers first hand.

[Not an entry.]

This is to help give perspective of the size of the flower using a matchstick...

The plant which produced the flower is growing in a outside container which is mounted below my bathroom window. A pair of Wagtails nested in the container and the plant has never quite recovered.

Here is a photo of one of the Wagtails sitting on the nest.

Oh my gosh, where do you live that you can grow watermelon THAT huge? We can only do the little round ones up here in WI.
Sorry, missed this! I'm in zone 6a (Indiana). I try to get watermelon seeds in the ground as soon as it warms up and then they trellis above the ground so I get at least 3-6 large melons before it's too cold for them to finish ripening. Because they are on a trellis, they get a lot of sun and seem to grow more quickly. I also have a lot of flowers around them so they get pollinated early.
