Outdoor time?

We had two glorious warm days and my blue laced reds went out for the first time!

they are 3 week olds.

The temps were around 20 celcius, so let's see...around 70 F. They attempted flight, sooooo cute, and ate clover and dandelion buds shredded by my boys, and a couple of bugs. It was so peaceful to just sit back and let them peak out from inside the pet carrier box, which was tipped onto its' side for them to retreat to, (transportation from the indoor brooder to the big backyard...) and attempt quick outings onto the lawn. They would run around the carrier box, and then run inside.

It looked like little chook laps. The bravest one took two running jumps into flight and landed about 10 feet away from the others in the garden, within my reach. But it froze, and cheeped loudly. I guess it scared itself, like "wow, how did I do that? Now how do I go back?"

I loved every minute of it as much as they did. Each day they lasted 1/2 hour-45 minutes, then back to the warmth of the brooder, fresh water and topped up food. They slept...and slept....and slept....
