Outdoor Water Heater

I’m desperately trying to find some type of heated base that would be safe to use in the ducks outdoor run. This heated base would be used around straw. All the ones I’ve come across so far are for indoor use or have horrible reviews.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

To keep their drinking water from freezing? I suggest heated buckets they work great and I have a few that are still working at5 yrs old

The buckets are a better investment the water last longer in them.

I too purchased a heated bowl this year. I have straw in my run and chickens that love to scratch and kick it up. I put mine atop 3 1’x1’ square pavers. So far I’m loving it. I get very little straw in it. Easy to pluck out with my hand. Best wishes

I’ve seen these as well and thought about getting one, but I don’t want the ducks to climb in it. I prefer to use the taller buckets to keep them out of it.

If any of you buy heated buckets place a piece of scrap board over half and fasten down with screws it will help keep them out of those too.

I never thought of them getting into it. My runners would think I bought them a Jacuzzi!

Yep I have caught a few in my 5 gal one thinking it was their hot tub the reason for the board over half. lol
