My new crossed beak that I got on thanksgiving week,’part of her beak was falling off, the outer shell layer? So I just removed it. Should I just leave it alone and it will harden or attempt to glue it back on? Does it matter?

I made some rolled oats porridge with corn and egg, greens for her and gave her some Meloxicam dose for chickens for pain. I attempted to wipe the blood off from the top with saline water so it shouldn’t sting.
Is there somewhere else I should do that not aware of? Could it get infected?

I haven’t trim her beak bc it seems like she’s eating fine and read shouldn’t trim unless it interferes with eating.

Here are pictures for reference. The first one is when the shell bent on the other side of the beak. Second pic of the “new” beak after it was bent and part broke off, was worried about it wobbling around and hitting things and hurting her so I just removed the entire thing.

Beak injuries are very painful. I would keep it clean, and continue to help her eat and drink. I don’t have any experience with cross beak chickens, so hopefully others may chime in.
