When can my chicks (silkies) that were hatched on August 1 be able to move from garage to an outdoor coop? This is Mid Michigan weather!

Generally speaking if they are at least 4-5 weeks old, feathered out, and acting well with temp at 70 degrees with overnights 65 or 68 to 70 degrees no lower at night.

We moved our Brahma chicks outside at 5 weeks. (They are 8 weeks old today). They were feathered out well and haven't had a problem at all.

I've had chicks about 5-1/2 weeks old go through nights in the mid 20's Fahrenheit with no problems and no supplemental heat. That coop was well ventilated up above them but had good breeze protection on their level. How cold is Mid Michigan weather going to be tonight?

Are they off heat?
Is your coop wind proof?
If yes to both....move them out now.
Welcome to BYC!
