outside play time for 3 1/2 week olds?

would it be ok to bring the girls outside if it's over 73 degrees and sunny (we have a puppy X-pen, and we would be inside of it with them)? I think it would be good to let them test out their future free range

My 3.5 week olds are almost ready to move outside permanently. I start taking chicks out at about 1 week old, if it's sunny.

Your chicks will do splendidly at their stage of development, not needing any extra heat during the day at this point. Go for it!

Thanks so much! My "gut" was telling me it was ok but it's good to hear from "the pros..." lol. I ditched the heat
lamp and now they
just have Mama Heating Pad. I feel safer at night!

Take them out. They are fun to watch at that age. They fly, play fight, scratch, dust bath etc.

Nothing better than some chicks around that age on a sunny day outside and a cold beer. Chicken TV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
