Just be careful, hawks and owls will snatch a baby chick in no time flat. And don't think that because you're there they won't come in. Several people here have had a hawk fly right past them and try to get grown chickens. I've had one fly right by me, but my chickens weren't out at the time.

We will watch. The pen has a top as well. Now I will be more nervous when they are bigger though. I had no idea a hawk would swoop even with people standing right there!
