My chickens just turned 1 wk old.
What is the best way to give them grit? Because so far I have put it in their feed.
I have some sunny days coming up here in Seattle, 65 degrees. Can I take the chickies outside for a few minutes?

Unless you are feeding them things other than their chick starter, they don't have a need for grit at that age.

Yes, you can take them out for short periods of time on sunny, windless days. Just stay with them, observe them carefully. If they start bunching up tightly and peeping loudly, they're telling you they are cold and ready to go back in under their heat lamp.
