Hi, need some advice! Hatching some chicken eggs (first time!) one egg started cheeping over two days ago - was vocal for a day and then went quiet. I candled today (I know I probably shouldn’t have but with no external pip I hope it won’t have done any damage?!) and the chick has internally pipped. Did it very quickly just to confirm internal pip but didn’t see any movement while I was doing it. I’ve now gone back and added a TINY safety hole in the top - because I was worried it had run out of oxygen. Still no movement of cheeping - 48hours + since internal pip. Was I too late? Is it likely to be dead if it’s been silent and still this long? :(
Thanks 🙏🏾

When I left for work he hadn’t made any progress, still chirping if I tap the incubator. How do I tell if he’s shrink wrapped/stuck ? Seems like a very long time - he internally pipped on the 29th feb.
You mean January 😂 can you post pictures? It could still be absorbing the yolk. If it’s still chirping I’d just monitor, good luck!

If the chick is still in the shell this evening, consider removing the chick out of the shell. Peel the shell with a tweezer, work fast, and let it rest and fluff up in the incubator.
