Devora, it's just a way to respond to whatever someone brings up, right then, while they are sitting there waiting for your response, click on chat sometimes and try it out, a very good way to get to know the other forum members. It's alittle confusing at first with all the posts but you either answer the general topic or answer the one person you are talking to, it gets easier and it really is fun. I love getting to put the screen name into context as real people. Alot of fun, alot of good natured teasing and getting to know people, try it out..Darlene

I thought I would like the chat thing when it first came to BYC. I'd never tried it before anywhere else.
Anyway, I tried it and just could not keep up with the conversations. My typing is just not up to par with everyone elses I guess... :rolleyes
So I don't use it at all anymore.

Is it like IM? The closest I've come to that is when friends are emailing me as I'm online and we both realize we are emailing simultaneously. But I'd love to sneak a peak if it wouldn't ruin someone's 'flow' b/c I'm 'watching.' (Dang, this is starting to sound like some cheap porno blog....)
