I have one RIR that will let me pick it up without trying to get away at all. It is also the most unattractive of my 3 month old flock. It's smaller and has rough feathers and pale yellow feet instead of rich orangey feet like the rest? Just an oddball or maybe sickly?

When I was at my cousin's house down in Ohio, he had 6 of the same kinds of about 1 or 2 month old chicks. One of the pullets matched EXACTLY to what your chick has. We don't know what was wrong with her, but today she is with the rest of her flock eating and drinking like the rest...If your chicken gets worse (not eating or drinking) put her in a warm, semi-dark environment and force-feed her ground up insects, and chick mash. The ground up insects will make up for her not being able to forage and the mash will make sure she is getting all of the nutrients she needs.

Sorry about your chick.

I had a pullet like that a couple of months ago. Matched your description exactly, except she was a d'uccle. She also didn't make it. None of my other chicks got sick or acted the same way so I don't think hers was a "sickness", maybe she ate something she wasn't supposed to or just didn't have the will to live. Whatever happened I don't know, I think those are the worst deaths.... when you just don't know what happened or what you could have done.
