Over-grown lettuce?

Well I planted alot of lettuce this year and I didn't get tine to pick it when it was good, so it grew really tall. Can the girls eat this? I leaked a bunch of white sap when I cut of down

Cut some down and find out. The white sap that came out is normal and won't hurt them. If they like it they will eat it, if not they won't.

Chickens love lettuce.

It might be bitter to you, but if they are hungry and have no other greens, they might go for it. It won't hurt them.
