Over Run With Duck Eggs

iamcuriositycat's idea about boiling eggs reminded me that a number of those I have given away have been to people who are timid about duck eggs, but who gladly took and immediately ate a hardboiled one.

This year I am giving away free samples, figuring this may put me on the map, and get some word-of-mouth publicity going.

Again, it has helped neighborhood friendliness a little bit, too.

Thank you all for good advise. Nice to know that many of you have gone or are going thru the same thing. I live in Fl., and 20 mins from a good size town, (still small) which is really far without a car. It's rural here and I don't really know to many people. Everyone pretty much, keeps to themselves and have family around. I don't think anyone's going to travel from town for duck eggs. I will put up a sign and also call a church in the immediate area. I'd really just like to make my feed back. I really can't afford to be feeding the neighbors My dog loved eggs (chicken store bought), but when I scramble her a duck egg, she immediately throws it up. I've tried her several times, but up it comes. Not 5 min later or 2 mins later, immediately. I guess she has an allergy to duck eggs. Good to know they can be kept 6 mos. That helps alot. I do make chopped eggs for myself, plus eggs in the morning, but I don't want to consume to many. Does anyone know if they sell plugs? I could use about 7.

Ok, on the heart attack! I guess I'll be having chopped egg sandwich's for lunch a few times a week. I'm soooooo glad I like chopped eggs.

I keep on telling that to people, but they still believe that yolks make their cholesterol go up. What a bunch of bogus garbage, but that is what the medicine world has been telling for way too long. Reality is that you can only absorb 10% of the cholesterol you eat, but your body makes 90% all by itself out of unfavorable carbohydrates. Especially all the processed junk containing extra sugar. On top of that the hole vitamin B group reduces body cholesterol levels, and duck eggs are much higher in it then chicken eggs. You better pick the right egg you eat.

Thanks for the info. I know duck eggs are more nutritious than chicken eggs, but I didn't know about the cholestoral. Good info. Thanks. I just gave a neighbor 1 1/2 dz eggs. He mention that he couldn't have to many of these, "cause he has to watch he's cholestoral".

the drug companies love to promote cholesterol lowering drugs and that is one of the biggest loads of crap lately that is being perpetrated upon the public...they make a ton of $ on those drugs...low cholesterol can be worse than high from what I have been reading...eat your eggs and enjoy them guilt free...

fellow White Springs person!! woohoo! I will answer your e in a few minutes...do you get to the swaps at the Hardware store? Got one next week end...bring eggs to sell if you can make it...

If it hasn't already been said, scramble them up (shells and all) and feed them back to the ducks and chickens. Great source of protein.
