They are tiny little wasps that lay their eggs in fly larva before they hatch therefore making the larvae die before they hatch. I have seen a HUGE decline in fly population since we put them out. I would love to have the ducks as other people suggested but I think my yard is too big, they wouldn't be able to get all the flies. With the predators, you just sprinkle them were the flies are worst and let them do the work!
Spalding Fly Predators these are a little more expensive though.
Fly Eliminators these are what I use they are a lot cheaper. I have 2 horses so I order the 1/2 unit but you may only need the 1/4 unit. I really recommend them, they have super customer service and they also send you a free double shipment when your have peak fly population in your area (mine happens to be August). I hope this helps!
