Over the Counter Antibiotic for Turkeys (and other poultry)

You can still find the powder on eBay.
Great to know this, I checked at a Large pet supply store for the Fish Mox, they no longer stock it in the stores. Looks like I need to get something ordered online to treat my hens infection. Spent the lion share of the day with dd in ER & now I have the grandkids :barnieDidn't even to to check on my hen today.

My turkeys came from a bad breeder. They’re feet are so messed up. We usually catch any problems before they get bad, but missed this one. The core of the bumblefoot was on the side of her foot. It opened and was bleeding pretty bad. It very swollen now. Had one before with a infection and took it to the vet. Can’t do that again.

What antibiotic did the vet prescribe last time?
I don’t recall. It was something they had in the office.

I was able to find some Tylan 50. I gave it to her orally, but I think I messed things up. She fought me and I pushed the medication into her mouth. Now she has a rattling in her sinuses. She started sneezing right away. She was perfectly fine before. She can’t even call out this morning. It sounds like she has a sore throat (just referencing). Very hoarse! I do not believe this is because of a illness. It’s because I gagged her, or choked her. IDK! I sure hope I didn’t make things worse. She is eating but very off this morning. Dang it! It’s one thing when nature is causing a problem, but another if I did something wrong. She is my favorite, vocal turkey. I’m praying she recovers.

At this point I wonder if I should suck it up and give her an injection. I HATE needles!!! However, I am willing to do it for her.

You gave me doses for oral. If you add it to water what would the dosage be per gallon? Also, how much for injectable? What size of needle (cringe)?

I appreciate you’re help. Thank you!
