These are not my ducks (I found this picture online), but mine look just like them. I am fairly new to having ducks. I have 2 KC hens, 2 Magpie hens, and a runner mix drake. I limit their food since they are pigs, but I have noticed that they have a very distinct breasts that hang down very similar to these hens. Are these hens a good weight? Is that bump of a breast normal or are they overweight and I have to cut back on their feed. As is is they act like I am starving them. They do forrage alot too so they do get alot of exercise. My magpies look like this too, but the runner mix is just fine. He is nice and slender.

Thanks

I dont know but my babies that are 3 weeks old have the bump under their breasts and have had it since I brought then home the first week. I always assumed it was normal.

That "bump" is their crop. They are very full, like when you eat a big meal and your stomach is FULL. As long as they can waddle, they should be fine.
