So, I wanted to get some chickens this spring, maybe 3 or 4 but still deciding which coop to start with. I also don't exactly know if I should free range them or not. I would also kinda like if the coop could hold more chickens if I wanted to expand the flock in the future. So it does not have to be those particular coops, but I would like suggestions or any opinions. Thankyou!
Here are the coops.

The Large Over-EZ is much better in terms of size for both you and chickens. It will, however, need ventilation added. What is provided is not enough. There are "attachments" you can get for the Over-EZ to add a run, power, ect. I almost got one but went a different route. The build quality is really nice for a prefab and it is very simple to put together.

Keep in mind it won't hold as many as advertised. I think this one could only 7 in actuality.

Do you have any building skills?
I would suggest trying to find an old shed someone is selling, have it moved to your property and converting it into your coop.
I would never recommend a coop that you could not walk into.

i remember seeing someone say that a prefab coop will only be enough room for half of what they advertise it for- in my opinion bigger is better, if you have the means i would 100% recommend repurposing a shed, that’s what i did and it didn’t cost much and i love it. prefab coops are incredibly expensive, and don’t sound great once you think about chicken math & expanding down the road

What about the eglu, everyone seems to like that one?
IMO the eglu products are incredibly overpriced. I bought their plastic chicken fencing, and it came with poop all over it! Someone must have returned it and they sent it to me. It was covid and shipping times were so long I put it in a big pile in the driveway and squirted antibacterial dish soap all over it, smooshed it around and hosed it and left it in the sun to dry, none of my birds come in contact with it, it was just a visible border for my dogs, so I wasn’t as worried, but I would be concerned putting my birds directly in contact with their stuff if that’s how quality control is.

I’ve seen the Eglus at the 4-h fair and they are much smaller than I expected from the pics and descriptions of how many birds can go in, I just don’t think they’re worth the money, the tray on one I saw seemed really cheap too.
