Overfeeding hens?

This is an interesting conversation...I observe my chickens eating everyday and watch them when new food is introduced. I agree with @TXchickmum, I don't ever observe them overeating. If fact, their pickiness about what they eat, and seemingly they eat what their bodies need....make them better eaters than us as humans.

This has been my brief experience with mine as well. They take what they need and nothing more. They definitely don't seem to eat out of boredom.

Chickens do not eat like a bird, LOL.

Buff Orpingtons are definitely not dainty about eating. LOL

Don't sweat. I gave my chooks some ground beef a week ago and they ate half and walked off. (Normally go nuts and try to eat the stainless steel bowl after). Worse than toddlers, sometimes.
