Overheating easily?

I have a 4 week old chicken, probably a New Hampshire red rooster. Always seems warm to the touch. Lays out sideways with wings out a lot and seems “hot”. Today in the sun within just a few minutes he was laying out and panting so I took him back inside. It was about 70 degrees out. And they’re never in tempatures warmer than 75 now

I have attached a photo of him laying a bit on his side from a few days ago. Though it gets more dramatic than this. I will try to get a video today if he does it again

24/7 access to water and a lot of it... I always see him drinking. I can start adding electrolytes to the water again ?

At 70 degrees, I don't think your cockeral should be overheating. As long as he's hydrated, I wouldn't think electrolytes would be needed. Chickens body temp is 105-107F, so he should feel warm to the touch. Are you sure it's panting that he's doing? How's his comb color look compared to normal? Is he acting different in any other way?

If he's lying stretched out in the sun, he's sunbathing, which would explain why he feels warmer to the touch.

Does he have access to shaded areas as well, so he can cool down afterwards?

Chickens don’t perspire like humans to cool off. They perspire by breathing and cool down with water. They are constantly drinking and need water lots of it.

That might help. What electrolytes do you give?

I have save a chick that I was using though I haven’t given them electrolytes in about 2 weeks probably. I do also have hydro hen I could give

Yes , there is access to plenty of water as I have ducklings too
